Don't Ignore These Signs That You May Be Getting
Too Much
Screen Time
By ANNA DENSON
Dry Eyes
If you’re indulging too much in screen time, you most likely get itchy and dry eyes. While you’re watching something on a screen, you don’t blink as regularly, so this causes your tears to evaporate faster, leaving your eyes uncomfortably parched.
Headaches
Headaches can be a direct result of all the eye strain you’re experiencing. If you experience pulsating pain, light and sound sensitivity, nausea, blurry vision, dry or tired eyes, or tense muscles around your neck and shoulders, you may be on the verge of getting a headache.
Sleep Issues
Blue light from your screen has a negative impact on the quality of your sleep. Exposure to blue light interferes with melatonin production, so your body might not realize it’s time to go into rest mode.
Soreness
Poor posture, like slouching over electronic devices, can lead to shoulder and neck pain; this is often called tech neck. Although tech neck may seem like a minor problem, consistent bad posture can be very harmful to your spine in the long run.
Weight Gain
Screen time is a major contributor to weight gain because it leads to a less active lifestyle, and inadequate sleep leads to unhealthy cravings. The tendency towards obesity has shown to be profound among children, which could set them up for a lifetime of struggle with their weight and health.
