Here's What You Need To Know About The Karl Lagerfeld-Themed 2023 Met Gala

Few events are as popular as the Met Gala which is held every year at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The event is used to showcase the museum’s new exhibit and each year’s dress code (which has just been released) reflects the theme of the exhibit.
The theme for 2023 is “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” which will honor the late designer and his widespread influence throughout just about every corner of the industry. While a focus on one designer might seem a little limited, Lagerfeld not only created his own brand but also designed for Chanel, Chloe, Fendi, Balmain, and Patou.
He’s best known for his work modernizing Chanel and bringing it back from the brink of financial ruin, but his entire career followed a theme of revitalization and revolution in a previously-stuffy fashion world. With this in mind, inspiration abounds.
We'll have to wait until May 1st, 2023 to see how these homages will take shape on the red carpet. But, we’ll likely see several one-of-a-kind archival Lagerfeld pieces alongside some modern interpretations of the paragon's distinctive style.
