The septum piercing has become more mainstream, with many celebrities sporting the look. They’re very low maintenance and are ideal for those who want an easy piercing.
Due to its placement in a low irritation zone with limited exposure to bacteria, it heals faster than most piercings in 8-10 weeks.
Improper cleaning can make the healing process take longer. Do not use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or soaps; they will be way too harsh on the piercing.
Instead, use a saline solution to clean the area. Also, avoid over-cleaning the piercing by washing it no more than three times a day.
