Is Crying Good Or Bad For Your Skin?
By LINDSAY RAY
While crying doesn’t feel good in the moment, it can relieve pain and tension, reduce stress hormones, and inevitably boost your mood. While those benefits are proven, you might wonder if crying is good or bad for your skin.
Depending on the type of skin you already have, crying can be both helpful and bad for the skin. Crying benefits those who have oily skin and acne because the salt in tears benefits the skin by drying out excess oil and potentially killing bacteria that causes acne.
However, crying makes you lose electrolytes, which causes you to become dehydrated and show on your skin, becoming dry and irritated. You can combat and restore your skin by drinking water and moisturizing your skin, avoiding cleansers with harsh chemicals that may disturb
the skin even more.
