Is It Healthy To Set Time Aside To Worry?
By ALEXANDRA RODRIGUEZ
While it may sound odd, setting aside time to worry helps improve your focus and clarity throughout your day. Instead of dwelling on things or thoughts that concern you, put them at the back of your mind and schedule time to think about them.
To follow the technique, you'll want to set a time of 15 to 30 minutes where you talk to yourself about the things that made you worried. Try to schedule this time for the evening, but not immediately before bedtime, that way you can reflect on your entire day which is when new worries tend to pop up.
This time is an act of self-care, so find somewhere that’s calming and you won’t get interrupted, like a bathroom, a bedroom, or even your car. Plan a fun or relaxing activity for when you’re finished that will help you transition to a positive mindset.
