Is Rowing A Better Cardio Workout Than Running?
By TESSA A. ADAMS
If you want an intense cardio workout, running might be the first exercise that comes to mind; however, running can be hard on your muscles and ligaments. This is why many people are turning to rowing for their cardio.
If you are recovering from an injury or beginning your fitness journey, you may want to try rowing first, because personal trainer April Gatlin says rowing is “less impactful on the joints as well as non-weight bearing.” Rowing also provides more of a full-body workout and it’s great for those who sit at a computer all day because the rowing movement helps your posture.
On the other hand, running burns more calories and improves your balance and stability. For those who don’t have gym access or equipment, running is a great option; both exercises are amazing cardio experiences that will challenge you in the best ways.
