Microneedling
Vs Chemical Peel: Which Is The Better Treatment For You?
By JOANNA MARIE
Microneedling
Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure where a device with fine needles creates tiny punctures in the skin and helps heal the skin while stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. Microneedling is used to treat a variety of skin concerns, such as fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, large pores, and improves the overall appearance of the skin.
Chemical Peel
A chemical peel is a cosmetic procedure that uses a chemical solution to remove the broken and old skin on the outer layers, which leaves the skin smoother, and is used to treat issues like fine lines, wrinkles, acne, age spots, and uneven skin tones. There are three types of peels, each with varying strengths and formulations: the superficial, medium, and deep peels.
Best For You
Both chemical peels and microneedling effectively enhance the appearance of the skin, but if you want a more aggressive approach, microneedling may produce better results, especially for acne scars, whereas chemical peels typically work best for surface-level issues. Before beginning any treatment, a dermatologist should be consulted.
