Our Best Fashion Tips For Making Yourself Look Taller
By SARAH VULPIO
The average height for women in America is 5 feet 4 inches, and some wish they could appear a bit taller. If you want to add a little height to your frame, you can do so by adding these simple pieces of clothing to your wardrobe.
Cropped Jacket
One of the easiest tips to make yourself look taller is by switching to cropped jackets. When you wear a garment that hits at your hip bone or higher, you're showing off more of your frame, which also gives the appearance of longer legs.
Slitted Midi Skirt or Dress
Midi skirts are the latest trend in women’s fashion and when paired with a thigh slit, it gives the illusion that you’re taller than you actually are. The shorter the midi skirt, the taller you will look and you can pair the skirt with strappy, open-toed heels to really make your legs look longer.
V-neck Tee or Blouse
Any top with a v-neckline can add inches to your height. This is because your collarbone area is one of the most elongating parts of the body, so by wearing a top with a v-neck, you’re highlighting that area, which will make you look taller.
Clear Heels
The majority of heels hit right at the ankle, which immediately makes your legs look shorter than they really are, which translates to a shorter-looking frame. Try translucent heels because they draw the eye all the way from your waist to your toes, giving the appearance that you look taller.
