Still Be Working Out When You're Sick?

Daily exercise is crucial for a healthy life, and moving your body will help you avoid dangerous diseases and illnesses. Unfortunately, getting ill is common and it can throw off your whole routine, especially your workout routine.
Depending on your sickness, exercise might be the trick to get your back on your feet. If you only have “above the neck” symptoms like a runny nose, mild sore throat, nasal congestion, or sneezing, working out can benefit you.
However, if you suffer from a cough, upset stomach, or chest congestion, avoid exercising until the symptoms stop; the key is to always listen to your body and do what feels comfortable. According to trainer Kelly Chase, your body needs rest when it’s sick, but a gentle workout such as walking or yoga may be beneficial.
