Nail Biting
Fingernail biting is fairly common among children and adults, but it shouldn’t be normalized because of its side effects. Nail biters tend to have more cavities because they're ingesting the germs that accumulate on and under the nails; it can also lead to aesthetic damage around your nail beds.
Drinking Coffee
Coffee can disrupt your peaceful sleep because of the caffeine in it, so if you struggle with insomnia, coffee isn’t a good idea. Drinking too much coffee can cause anxiety, heart palpitations, jitteriness, and intense panic attacks.
Binge-Watching TV
Watching TV is a fun way to wind down after a long day, but you shouldn’t overdo it. Verywell Health notes that watching too much TV may lead to health issues such as blood clots, fatigue, insomnia, and heart problems, but it can also make you less social and more likely to make unhealthy diet choices.
Binge-Eating Fast Food
Fast food is convenient and cheap, but you shouldn’t eat it regularly because most fast food is low in fiber, and loaded with salt, saturated fat, and sugar. According to Medical News Today, too much fast food can lead to a weakened immune system, inflammation, and a higher risk for Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's, and cancer.
Binge-Drinking Alcohol
The side effects of drinking alcohol are serious because there are short and long-term risks. Some of the short-term risks include injuries from falling down, car accidents, and alcohol poisoning while long-term risks include heart and liver disease, strokes, cancer, and addiction, just to name a few.
