Sol De Janeiro's After Hours Perfume Mist Is Fall Magic In A Bottle
By ROBYN SONG
Beauty brand Sol De Janeiro has launched a limited-edition perfume mist called After Hours, inspired by Rio de Janeiro’s nightlife, it contains notes of jasmine and amber woods.
According to Sol De Janeiro, a 3.04-oz bottle of the perfume mist costs $24. It is an amber floral that unfolds with top notes of black currant and pear nectar.
When we tried it for ourselves, we were met with pure, ambery warmth. Once the scent settled into our skin, we noticed a berry-like juiciness, sweet vanilla, jasmine, and freesia.
In its earliest stages, it’s sweet and fruity with an edge. By the second hour, the amber woods notes mellowed and we could detect the sweet, spicy undercurrent of patchouli.
Because After Hours is a mist and not a perfume, its staying power left something to be desired. Still, the amber wood scent was still perceptible two to three hours later.
Despite this fragrance’s bold bouquet of notes, its lightweight concentration makes it ideal for any season, though the notes remind us most of the fall.
