The Best Way To Prep Curly And Textured Hair For Blow Drying
By MONICA GILL
Curly and textured hair can be a hassle to manage and style, leaving you with wonky, frizzy, or damaged curls. If you notice your curls aren’t coming out like you want them to after blow drying, there are a couple of things you can do to get them perfect every time.
Prep is the most important thing to do before you blow dry your curls, which means you’ll need leave-in conditioner, curl cream or mousse, and hair gel. Each product has a specific use to moisturize and define your curls, as well as avoid frizz when it’s time to dry.
Before blow drying, gently scrunch your hair with a microfibre towel or cotton shirt to absorb excess water and apply a heat-protecting spray or cream. Use a diffuser on small sections of hair at a time; when your hair is about 70% dry, leave the rest to air dry.
