The Expert-Approved Way To Make Glitter Manicures Easy

Glitter is a new beauty trend that can be incorporated into your daily makeup routine or a fresh manicure. Adding glitter to your nails is a discrete way to have fun with your look; however, unlike regular nail polish, glitter can be challenging to work with.
The first step to a glitter manicure is to apply a clear base coat followed by a base coat of your preferred color; once dry, wet a Q-tip, dip it into a glitter polish, and dot the glitter on the nail. You can also apply glitter with a sponge, just swipe a few coats onto the edge of a white sponge and press it onto your nail, before applying a top coat.
To remove the glitter from your nails, soak cotton balls with acetone and wrap your nails with tin foil for 10 minutes. An easy hack is buffing out the top layer of your nail with a file for easier removal which creates enough pores for the acetone to penetrate the glitter.
