The Secret To Storing Your Seasonal Clothing Is Hiding In Your Bedroom
By ALIA HOYT
As the seasons change, so does your wardrobe. Sweaters can be easily ruined while stored by household threats like moths, moisture, and mildew.
Instead of storing your sweaters in moisture-trapping plastic, preserve them in pillowcases. The breathable fabric will protect them from moths and won’t create a musty smell.
Wash and dry the sweaters before storing them. Fold each sweater and place individually into a pillowcase, adding a sachet, cedar chip, or dryer sheet if preferred.
Store the sweater in an air-tight bin or dresser drawer. Avoid hanging sweaters as they can get stretched out and lose their shape.
