Tinted Sunscreen Vs. Traditional SPF: Do The Skin Health Products Work The Same?
By JOSEE NG
Sunlight Effect
The much dreaded ultraviolet radiation — commonly called UV rays — has three types of wavelengths: UVA, UVB, and UVC. In general, UVA rays can lead to premature skin aging, UVB rays damage your DNA and can lead to skin cancer, and UVC rays can cause short-term skin wounds and eye injuries.
Physical Vs Chemical
Chemical sunscreens and physical sunscreens (or mineral-based sunscreens) prevent UV rays from inflicting damage on the skin, but so by different means. It doesn't matter which type of sunscreen you use, however, as far as safety is concerned.
Tinted Sunscreen
Tinted sunscreens are physical sunscreens that offer SPF protection and seamless coverage sans the chalky white residue. You can wear tinted sunscreen under makeup or wear it alone, and it evens out hyperpigmentation and lends your skin a natural glow.
