Vulturing Is The Latest Toxic Dating Trend You Should Know About

Vulturing is a toxic dating behavior where someone swoops in after a breakup to become romantically involved with the newly single person, taking advantage of their vulnerability.
More simply put, it is "predatory [behavior] that takes advantage of someone who is emotionally vulnerable after a breakup," per relationship expert Jessica Alderson to Stylist.
Screenwriter Lisa Maldonado posted a TikTok to warn viewers that "vultures" exist outside of romantic scenarios, and everyone should be conscious of people with vulture energy.
Moreover, TikToker @healingoutloud posted a video describing the link between "vultures" and narcissism, calling narcissists "vultures who swoop in to offer assistance."
While "vulturing" is a relatively new term, these vultures have been around forever and have been depicted by many toxic characters on TV, like Damon from "The Vampire Diaries."
