Added Weight
Physically active individuals lose or maintain weight as they spend the energy from food by exercising. Individuals who are less physically active, on the other hand, tend to put on weight over time, according to a review published in Diabetes Spectrum.
Stiff & Achy
Your body is designed to move, and if you're not moving enough, your muscles will start to feel stiff and achy. Not exercising also weakens joints and surrounding muscles, ligaments, and tendons, which is why it’s best to exercise those areas when they start to feel stiff.
Fatigue
Fatigue makes you feel tired, with a lack of energy or motivation, and it can be caused by many physical or mental health conditions. Per a study published in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, physical activity can help you decrease feelings of fatigue.
Negative Moods
Exercise has a positive effect on your mental health and mood, as it stimulates stress hormones, serotonin, and endorphins. Exercising also serves as a distraction from negative thoughts and can help you socialize if you are struggling mentally.
No Sleep
Exercise and sleep go hand in hand because exercise makes you sleep better, and sleep improves your ability to exercise. Since exercise is physically demanding, it’s a healthy way to build up your sleep drive or the pressure to sleep.
