What To Know About Botox Aftercare
By JOSEE NG
Facial Botox injections reduce the appearance of wrinkles and prevent new ones from forming, but they can be used to treat conditions like eye twitching. Results can take a few days to appear and the effects can last anywhere between three to six months, however, proper aftercare will help you get better mileage out of your procedure.
Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medication before treatment and for at least two days after your injections because it can cause bruising and swelling. You should also refrain from rubbing or massaging the treated area for at least four hours and avoid wearing tight headwear across the forehead.
Additionally, avoid lying down for at least four hours and exercising for at least 24 hours. If possible, rest for a full week before attempting any strenuous activities. Lastly, exposure to UV rays can reduce your Botox's effectiveness so wear sunscreen ritually.
