Your Favorite K-Pop Stars' Best Tips To Get Radiant Skin
By ALIA HOYT
The Basics of K-Beauty
The Korean skincare regimen can be intense, but the rewards you reap with the initial investment in skin products and tools are undeniable.
It is essential to know which specific type of products to buy and how, when, and why to use them. Commit to the steps of the regimen to get the complexion results of a K-pop star.
Sun Protection
Ultraviolet rays can ultimately break down the skin and cause wrinkles, sun damage, and skin cancer. Always wear sunscreen with at least SPF 30 and broad-spectrum.
K-pop stars keep their smooth complexions with a lightweight sunscreen and SPF-rich. Accessories, like sunhats and sunglasses, are also advised.
Facial Massage
Korean skincare expert Araceli Elchami explained to Harper's Bazaar that facial massages can “make you look much younger without fillers and Botox.”
They help improve circulation by stimulating the muscles and improving skin elasticity. Elchami says to massage away from the wrinkles using your fingers or a roller.
Cleansing
One of the key tenets of K-pop-worthy skin is to clean the skin gently but thoroughly regularly. Harsh cleansers are strictly avoided in favor of gentle options.
"Double cleansing" follows up with a second cleanser, usually foaming. Use an oil-based makeup remover and a light water-based facial cleanser to achieve that extra oomph.
Exfoliate
The key to exfoliating like a K-pop star is not to get carried away. Remove dead skin cells carefully without stripping the face of beneficial cells and aggravating it.
"Korean women are very strategic about exfoliation to ensure skin balance," Elchami says. Use a gentle exfoliator with salicylic acid once or twice a week to maintain balance.
