Personal hygiene is very important, and there’s always been a big debate on how often you should shower. Some say you need to shower every day, while others opt for every other day, but regardless, there’s one common place a lot of people miss when showering.
A lot of people forget to clean their feet, and just rinsing them with water is not enough. If you skip washing your feet, you are at risk of getting a staph infection, athlete's foot, or plantar warts, especially if you shower at the gym or walk barefoot in locker rooms.
Next time you’re in the shower, use a foot scrub to prevent fungal or bacterial growth. The Institute for Preventive Foot Health says to “wash and thoroughly dry your feet every day. Use mild soap, and wash between the toes.”
