The New Yoga and Surfing Retreat That’s Redefining Self-Care
April 4, 2018
From specialized trips to daily excursions the wellness vacation movement is totally dominating the travel market. A slew of experiences keep popping up in picturesque locations near and far, providing an opportunity to decompress, whether you decide to embark on an experience with your partner, alone, or with a group of friends. Although vacations used to be associated with excessive indulgence, more and more travelers are interested in a rejuvenating experience that allows them to return feeling refreshed and re-centered–and if you’re hoping to recharge and reconnect with nature in a chic setting, look no further than the Yoga x Surf Retreat Todos Santos experience, presented by YogaKoh.
The luxe wellness retreat is making its Mexico debut in the Baja hotspot from July 19-24 at Pachamama Mexico. Those looking to really connect with nature will benefit from the eco-luxe accommodations, which include seven adobe teepees. Looking for a more upscale experience? The boutique hotel also offers a beachfront villa, complete with an infinity pool.
The all-inclusive, 6-day/5-night retreat will provide three organic, farm-to-table meals a day for guests and includes yoga sessions twice a day, private surfing lessons, horseback riding on Cerritos Beach, a day trip to explore the capital La Paz and the isolated beaches of El Tecolote and Balandra, guided meditation sessions, sunset hikes, and chef-led healthy cooking demos.
YogaKoh founder and lead instructor Jolie Manza will lead the daily yoga practice. “Until now our retreats have been based out of the Oceania region of Bali, Maldives and Australia. In 2018, we decided to head West premiering in Montana, and we are now expanding into Mexico and couldn’t be more excited! We get to explore the Baja location everyone is talking about and bring our love of yoga and surf to the Pacific,” she said.
Manza was the master trainer at The Tracy Anderson Method in NYC. She left her post in the big city and spent over six years in Bali, where she offered yoga training instructions before developing YogaKoh in 2017.
“As with every retreat we do, we want to curate a memorable experience that not only includes yoga but outdoor adventures that embrace everything the local culture has to offer,” she added.
