Have you ever experienced that feeling when everything in life seems to be kicking your butt? Whether it’s the back to school madness or the stress of a new career, it happens to the all of us at one point or another. And sometimes, when life happens, the bad habits start piling up. Workouts become few and far between, home cooked meals turn into takeout, and eight hours of sleep feels like a dream. The best thing you can do is to turn your slump into more motivation for success. Follow these five easy steps to fall back in the healthy habits that will keep you looking and feeling your best.

Shake up your workout

When doing the same type of fitness routine for a long period of time, it’s easy to get bored. Search Yelp for new fitness programs in your area and give them a whirl. Or, try a program like ClassPass, which allows you to try out new studios each month at a discounted rate. Who knows, you may find a new instructor that motivates you enough to get up for that 6 a.m. class.

Eat up

We get it: Preparing a meal can be stressful when life has already served you a full plate. Whenever you’re too busy to cook, instead of turning to take out, consider a healthy meal delivery services like Paleta instead. Each morning they deliver a cooler with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desert. The whole bag of food is around 1200 calories and has all the nutrients needed to keep fit.

Catch some Zzz’s

If the bags under your eyes aren’t Chanel, it might be time to change your sleeping schedule. Start by putting your devices away and going to bed just 30 minutes earlier each night. Getting in that extra shut-eye will make a huge difference in your day.

Get some new gear

Need another excuse to shop? Purchase a few new things for your fitness wardrobe has to get inspired to go back the gym. With hot new leggings, you’ll have no excuse not to!

Try the buddy system

Sometimes you need a little help from your friends. Grab a buddy who will hold you accountable or who has similar goals. Yours could be a co-worker who you head straight to the gym with right after work, or your best friend who keeps you laughing during burpees. Another good tip: Carpool so you can’t drive home instead of to the gym.
