From supplements to exercise and meditation, there are a lot of practices the term “wellness” can encompass. So many that it can be hard to know what to prioritize in our own busy lives. That’s why we turned to some successful female entrepreneurs — specifically women who have made careers in wellness, in some form or another — to learn more about the rituals they stick to for self-care. After all, they live and breathe the idea. What we’ve learned: It’s less about following the trends and more about cultivating naturally healthy habits you can follow on a regular basis. Keep scrolling and allow these practical wellness practices to inspire your own.
I absolutely refuse to rush in the morning, so I’m usually up by 6 a.m. I try and ease into the day with a long shower, my morning beauty routine (cleanser, moisturizer, and our Topical-C), some reading, and a cup of coffee. I truly love my first coffee of the day, but I always force myself to drink a massive glass of warm water first and limit myself to one cup (sometimes two) a day. I’m usually in the office by 7:45 a.m. so I can catch up on emails, and I’ve found that the first hour is always the most productive.
I’ve recently added in our newest product,Skin Filter. When I turned 30, I started to see sun damage and hyper-pigmentation, closely followed by dark spots and the occasional dose of adult acne—fun! Since using it I’ve stopped using concealer, which is exactly what I wanted to achieve.
One thing I also do regularly is monitor my sugar and caffeine intake. Cortisol, our primary stress hormone, is produced by the adrenal glands, and when our cortisol levels are too high, we feel anxious or jittery. I monitor my adrenals by designating one week every month to remove sugar and limit caffeine from my diet — and really stick to it. I’ve found that it’s made a huge difference in my stress levels.
When bedtime arrives, the environment needs to be just right. My partner was a professional rugby player and his coach always said that you could only get proper rest in total darkness, so we keep our bedroom very dark. Before bed, however, I turn on dim lighting and light a candle, which helps me settle down and relax. I keep our Magnesium Ease and Sleep Drops close by — they’re my nightly staples. Using them regularly guarantees that I wake up feeling refreshed and restored. I also wear a silk eye mask and have been using Lunya’s for a while now — I love it!

I start my day each morning with a big cup of Prima Brain Fuel mixed in alkaline water. And while I’m drinking it, I take my dog Lola outside and enjoy a few minutes of fresh air in my backyard before I race inside to finish getting ready before heading into the office.
Every evening when I get home from the office, I usually consume cannabis to relax. (Thank you, California!) I love celebrating the end of a busy workday with a deep breath of organic indica. Before bed, I also take our vegan CBD supplement, The Daily, to help me sleep. CBD is thought to be cumulative, so it’s important that I take this every day for optimal benefits.
For dinner, I cook something seasonal from the farmer’s market. I get all of my groceries from the Mar Vista farmer’s market and love letting the seasons dictate my diet. It’s become a weekly Sunday ritual for me to pick everything up. As an entrepreneur, I love to see something go from point A to point B, and the same goes for cooking. I love seeing the impact of my work and then enjoying the product! On that note, I’ve also gotten obsessed with the pizza-making process and recently trained with an amazing pizza guru, Noel Brohner from Slow Rise Pizza, I enjoy the feeling of kneading the dough and allowing it to tell me how it wants to be stretched.
On Saturday mornings, I leave my phone at home and take my dog on a Venice adventure. After getting coffee, we go to the beach and share a blanket while I read to decompress. I like to give myself the day to just be still—no interruptions or notifications. I recently started going to acupuncture, too, and it’s been really transformative. I’ve learned that I store a lot of stress in my shoulders and back, and my acupuncturist helps to release this stress. While I’m there I go into a deep meditative state, so I also think of it as a meditation. Finally, I try to take a hot bath with our Bath Gem a few times a month, just to give myself time to relax and sit with my thoughts. Plus, it provides full-body Epsom salt and cannabinoid absorption!
The daily wellness practices that have changed my life are adaptogens, meditation, and getting eight hours of sleep a night. I try to meditate every morning while my husband takes my son to school, but when I can’t, I pull over while I’m driving to work and take 20 minutes to myself. I take SuperYou, SuperHair, and Magnesi-Om every day, too. My beauty routine is pretty minimal, and I love seeing how the supplementation shows up directly in my skin and hair.
When it comes to nutrition, I have a really high fat, low sugar diet that’s mostly plant-based. My fridge is always filled with healthy foods — sweet potatoes, avocados, seasonal fruits, and sprouted hummus — and having this stuff on hand helps me stay on track. Walking is really the form of exercise that works for my body and doesn’t stress me out. I spent years doing exercise that was raising my cortisol levels and I wasn’t recovering properly. Now, I walk outdoors regularly.
When my body needs a little more help, acupuncture really works for me. I usually get it on a bi-weekly basis. Monthly, I’ll do an endermologie session at Ricari Studios to keep my lymphatic system flowing; this makes a huge difference in skin tone, color, and puffiness.
I love waking up in the morning and instantly reflecting on the dreams I had. Then, I take a moment and think, “What can I do today that will make today the best day ever?” I prioritize one to two things that would make me feel accomplished, which helps me create a positive mindset for the day. I also prefer working out in the morning, because the exercise helps ground me mentally and invigorate me physically. Three days a week, I go to hot yoga or Bikram; on the other days, I’ll run or go to a HIIT class.
Back at home, I enjoy the most important meal of the day – breakfast! We do our best to eat breakfast as a family. It’s nice to have family meals as often as possible, and if you wake up early enough, you can give yourself 20 minutes to enjoy the meal and time spent. My breakfast always includes a serving of MIJA’s Superstar, my superfood supplement, in order to optimize my energy and mental clarity. I mix Superstar with water and drink it along with my meal. It’s a sure-fire way to know I’m getting the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients I need from whole foods.
During the day, when I get stressed, all I can do is remember to breathe deeply by inhaling for five seconds to exhaling for five seconds and repeating five times. Breathing can help reduce cortisol levels, and you can do it no matter where you are. Before bed, I always take ten minutes to stretch and meditate. Stretching helps loosen up any tightness I have from the day’s stress and relaxes my muscles, while the quietness from the meditation helps calm my mind and keep it from spinning with thoughts. I sleep hard and soundly, this combo works for me!
As a family, we have a weekly ritual of making a menu for the upcoming week and going to the Farmer’s market and store together. Having a menu helps us eat healthier, save money, and reduce food waste. Plus, taking my son to the Farmer’s market is a fun bonding experience as he helps me pick out the produce and loves to try new fruits and veggies.

Recently, I’ve been enjoying learning about all things space.
Acupuncture has also been such a powerful wellness practice for me. I see Lisa Ahmady regularly, and it’s a beautiful reminder of the interconnections of our inner and outer worlds, and how our emotional, spiritual, and physical bodies are inextricably linked. I get manicures (and meditate!) at Sundays in New York City. They’re nontoxic, and the space itself is like an oasis — there books from Brene Brown, Oprah, and Joe Dispenza sprinkled throughout instead of your typical magazine fare and they offer guided meditation listening if you choose. It’s my kind of spot.
When it comes to exercise, I like to workout at FPC, a unique studio that focuses on the core and pelvic floor. I was a loyal client all throughout my pregnancy, and I still go now to work on my pelvic floor. They even offer classes to bring your baby along as well, which I love.
Finally, I love to make a ritual of facial steams, which I do with Sakara Detox Tea. I boil a big pot of water over the stove and steep our detox tea which is chock full of healing herbs including anti-inflammatory rose and antioxidant-rich red rooibos. I put a towel over my head a create a mini steam session in my kitchen, opening up my pores and breathing deep, belly breaths. It feels very therapeutic and provides a deep facial cleanse.
Each morning, I drink 1L of lemon water before I have anything else. I sip it as I get ready. It sounds excessive, but it really rehydrates you after sleep and helps with jet lag (I’m always traveling). I also start each day by diffusing Grapefruit & Spruce (10 drops of each); grapefruit is rejuvenating and mood-brightening and spruce helps clear the lungs. Then, it’s time for coffee and exercise. I probably have two or three cups of coffee a day, and it’s something I consider part of my wellness routine. I try to start most mornings with a 6 or 7 a.m. workout class Turf, a studio that’s only one block from my home.
My dog Charlie comes with me to the office everyday, and we always go for a walk around lunchtime. I leave my phone at the office and just spend time with her for those quick 20 minutes of our walk. After 3 p.m., I switch from coffee to drinking a roasted rice organic green tea. I find it maintains my energy and helps me think clearly. I also diffuse eucalyptus at my desk, which helps to open the lungs and reminds me to breathe. And I use our After Oil on my shoulders for warming muscle relief.
When I get home from work, I diffuse with our Ceremony blend, which mixes cedarwood, clary sage, and palo santo oils. It really helps set the space and recalibrate my energy after a day at the office. After dinner, I make a warm spiced turmeric drink with Golde. I never eat after 9 p.m. and having this drink really helps my digestion and is a nice closure to the day.
I prefer meditating at the end of the day, so at night, I use my insights timer for guided meditations. My favorite is SarahBlondin. Before I go to sleep, I take all my supplements, which include vitamin B complex, vitamin C, magnesium, selenium, biotin, omegas, and Vitex. At bedtime, I switch to diffusing Dusk (a blend of ho wood, frankincense, eucalyptus, and lavender) with five extra drops of lavender. I also make my own face oil using our customizable system, mixing our French plum oil when my skin is feeling really dry or using a blend of jojoba, raspberry seed, seabuckthorn, evening primrose, rosehip, apricot kernel, and geranium.
Because I travel almost weekly, having travel rituals is incredibly important to me, too. I travel with lavender and chamomile tea, do a drop of eucalyptus under my nose before boarding, take magnesium and oil of oregano while on the plane, and use Vega Sport Hydrator Powder with electrolytes to stay hydrated.
I start every day with a glass of alkaline water. I also drink about a liter of herbal tea during the day. For breakfast, I have a bowl of warm oat porridge with chia seeds.After my kids leave for school, I have one hour to myself and always use it to exercise. I love to exercise outdoors, hiking or going biking, but I also mix in yoga and Pilates. For me, what’s key is doing different activities.
When it comes to wellness practices, of course, my skin care regimen is very important to me. I use my own range, and my go-to products are the Nutrient Concentrate and Line A Eye Cream. In the morning, I love to use our Glow Mask for an instant refresh. Mid-morning, I sip on freshly squeezed vegetable juice with linseed oil to help keep my energy levels up. If I’m lucky, I get home around 7 p.m. and have dinner with my family. Afterward, I go into my bathroom, light a candle, and play music (my husband is a musician, so music plays a big role in my life). At night, I use our Enzyme Peel, Tonic Soothing, and the ampoules in our Pollution Skin Defense System. If I have time, which is mostly on Sundays, I love to do a peel and mask. I also love a bath, which is why bath products are a big part of my line. Then, I change into comfier clothes and spend time with my family.
