When you finally hunt down that perfect pair of jeans — you know, the ones that make you feel like a million bucks — you probably wear them again and again. “Whether at a playdate or a business meeting, good jeans are like a reliable friend, supporting you to be your best,” says Nicole Russo, stylist and founder of Let’s Get You. “When you find jeans you love, keep them in rotation for as long as possible.”
Happily, with the wheelhouse of washes and cuts available today, it’s easier than ever to find the right pair. “No matter your height, weight, shape or size, the perfect pair does exist — and when you do find it, it’s so worth the effort and money,” says Alyssa Dineen, professional stylist and founder of Style My Profile NYC. What’s more, if you take the time to find a good, quality pair in a classic style, you can wear them for years to come, she adds. “The more worn they get, the better they look.”
That’s right, even celebrity stylists aren’t immune to re-wearing their favorite pair of jeans for years and years. So, we asked them to share the one pair they can’t live without. Discover the best jeans for women, according to the pros.
Russo stresses the importance of fit. “I have a wide hip-to-waist ratio — it’s 11 inches different — so I often have to go up in pants and take in my waist to accommodate it, but not in these jeans!” she says of her favorite pair. “They are comfortable, yet still sculpt my shape throughout and don’t stretch out with wear, plus they come in a range of colors, distresses, leathers, and denims, and the fit is always consistent and never fails.”
The pair of jeans Ali Levine, celebrity stylist, fashion expert, and TV personality, has kept in her closet over the years are STS Blue skinny jeans. “The specific styles I love are the Emma Frey Skinny Jean and the Ellie High Rise because of the comfort, fit, and the way they make me feel — plus, they’re super affordable and never go out of style,” she says. “My favorite part, though, is that the fit never changes. I can wash and wash them, and they maintain their shape.”
Toni Ferrara, a celebrity stylist who’s dressed Kim Kardashian, Matthew McConaughey, and Kate Beckinsale, has been wearing this brand well before Bloomingdale’s carried them. “My go-to pair are their skinny jeans in a dark blue. I truly love a clean, dark blue denim skinny jean, because you can dress it up or dress it down,” she says. “They feel like butter, are stretchy, and hug every curve.”
These jeans are pricey, but they’re a worthy investment, says celebrity stylist, Amber Padilla. “Japanese selvedge denim gives the jean a special texture, fade, and dye that you won’t find with American brands,” she explains. “It has stretch which molds to my body and masters the perfect fit, and the cut accommodates my height and gives versatility for varying shoe heights.”
For a pair with a little more flare, Dineen goes for this silhouette by Frame. “It’s a new take on the demi boot cut jean with the side gusset,” she says. “I love the faded black with the black detail — it looks great with black, silver or grey ankle boots.”
