Backstage Beauty Beat: Juicy Couture Spring 2014
The Show: Juicy Couture
The Hair: The first beachy look had a slight seventies wave, provided by the T3 BodyWaver Large Barrel Styling Iron. First, Rudi Lewis created volume from underneath by using Phyto Professional Intense Volume Mousse. Next, hair was blasted with a blow dryer to create a full, textured look. The hair was then set with heat-styling spray, Phyto Spray de Coiffage. The T3 curling iron was used to create easy, loose waves in the hair.
The second look featured a clean side part and a small braid that ran from the front along the side and joined into a sporty ponytail in the back. Using the Mousse to control the hair, Lewis got rid of any fly-aways. He then used the Spray de Coiffage once again, back-brushed the ponytail and touched the T3 iron to it before brushing it through.
The Makeup: To prep models’ skin and make it glow, makeup artists used Erno Lazslo's Phormula 3-9 Serum, Cream, and Eye Repair to calm the skin. The rich, emollient formulas are perfect for dry skin and the dry winter weather. The eye cream even has caffeine in it to help get rid of under eye bags.
As for makeup, Beauty.com’s beauty director Romy Soleimani used IT Cosmetics to achieve a glamorous, fresh and sun kissed look. She began with IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness Neutralizing Correcting Cream to get rid of imperfections in the skin. Then, she used Bye Bye Under Eye Full Coverage Concealer on cheeks to get a dewy bronze glow. Romy added a bit of Hello Lashes! 5-in-1 Treatment Mascara to coat the top lashes and Tightline Full Lash Length Black Mascara Primer to bring out the bottom lashes. The nude lip was achieved by layering a Waterproof Lip Liner Stain in Nude Light with Lip Flush Butter Gloss. Vitality Lip Flush Butter lipstick in Pillow was used as a glossy blush and swiped onto cheeks. Brows were defined using the Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil.
The Mani: Nails were swiped with one coat of Deborah Lippmann’s “Believe” (a sandy, gold color) sandwiched between a layer of “Fast Girls” basecoat and “Addicted to Speed” top coat. A short, round nail shape made the manicure look natural and beachy.
