Beauty editors and nostalgic makeup mavens were up in arms yesterday as news broke that Bonne Bell Co. was sold to Markwins International, and is subsequently shutting down production of Lip Smackers and laying off almost 100 employees. But there is light at the end of the tunnel, as the company calmed everyone nerves with a statement, saying, “We are overwhelmed with all the Lip Smacker and Bonne Bell Cosmetics love you have all shown over the years! The Lip Smacker and Bonne Bell brands have been sold but WILL continue to be available for purchase in the US and internationally. This is a revamping to the brands and we are excited to see what the future holds! So don't worry, you won't have to live in a Lip Smacker-less world!” Phew! [Byrdie]

Kylie Jenner has already sported a kaleidoscope of colored hair, but she’s following in sisters Kim and Khloe’s footsteps by going blonde for Love’s February cover. The youngest Jenner shared the first look at the cover on Instagram, crediting Steven Klein with the final shot and Simon Robins for the styling. While it’s likely a wig, we wouldn’t be surprised if the mane maven adds the look to her repertoire. [Instagram]

Parlor is opening up to a whole new clientele. Founder Jeff Chastain partnered with Birchbox to launch a unisex line of chic stylers, including the Reworkable Hold Paste, Detangling Leave-In Conditioner, Moisturizing Sea Salt Spray, and Smoothing Blowout Spray that arrives in stores today. Though the range is small, it allows you to cocktail the products together to get locks like Tilda Swinton and Sarah Jessica Parker. As Chastain himself explained, “The vision is to create a product that is both accessible and luxurious.” Lush locks, here we come! [WWD]

Nobody likes spider lashes – you know, the effect that happens when you pile on to much mascara -- or black flakes flecking onto your cheeks, especially Urban Decay. The brand’s new Mascara Resurrection has ingredients like copper powder and panthenol to revive, moisturizes, and separates lush lashes so you can add another layer easily. We're grabbing at least two tubes: one to keep at home and one for on-the-go touch ups. [Refinery 29]

We’ve all given ourselves virtual makeovers, but ModiFace is looking to taking the makeup musts from the screen to your vanity. The tool partnered Slate Cosmetics to give makeup mavens a glimpse at not only how a particular product would look on them but also suggest coordinating products to complete the look with available options for purchase. Looks like we may be snapping selfies at Sephoras to score the latest beauty buys. [WWD]
