Stella McCartney's design career has had some pretty, stellar moments, if we say so ourselves, but earning the Order of the British Empire is by far her biggest achievement yet.
She was given the honor by the Queen of England at Buckingham Palace today for her accomplishments in the fashion industry: designing the 2012 British Olympic uniforms; being named Women of the Year by Harper's Bazaar UK; Designer and Designer Brand of the Year at the British Fashion Awards. The apple of the British fashion industry's eye joins designers like Vivenne Westwood, Sarah Burton, and Tamara Mellon who have also earned the OBE.
"I feel really proud and really excited and honoured to be here," McCartney told Harper's Bazaar UK, who stood with her husband of 10 years, Alasdhair Willis. Her look was fit to be seen by the queen, wearing her own designs, a navy blue skirt suit with a cinched in waist, padded hips, and a vintage hairpiece from Cartier. Cheers to you, Stella!
