Elle Goes Gaga for October Cover

… And the October covers keep on rolling in! We know that Sandra Bullock, Miley Cyrusand now, Lady Gaga will make the rounds on our newsstands come next month.

A very normal looking Lady Gaga on the cover of Elle magazine—by her standards, anyway—explains that her latest project is a result of the time she spent recuperating from her hip surgery. “I went back to look at myself being 19, with all my Warhol books, and all my Yoko Ono and John Lennon CDs, my Rolling Stones CDs, and my Bowie, and I said, ‘What would she want me to do right now,” she details to Elle. “Well, she’d want you to call Jeff Koons and Robert Wilson and Marina Abramović and Inez and Vinoodh. And that’s what I did.”

Nicola Formichetti’s former client did call Koons after Miuccia Prada introduced the two back in 2010. In fact, Koons is making a sculpture of Gaga that will be Artpop’s album cover. “I’m still trying to figure out if we drugged and mind controlled him into doing this,” she told Elle.

“You hide something that’s culturally interesting in something else, like a pop song,” she tells the glossy of her plans to take her fans to a “higher” level. “And then you blast it to the world and suddenly they discover something new. That’s what I’ve always been doing. Now we’re doing it on a higher level.”

Artpop, the singer’s third studio album is slated for release on November 11th. We already know that Donatella Versace is a fan.
