Emmy Style Envy: Posen’s Posse

Zac Posen had a number of leading ladies wearing his glamorous gowns at the 2013 Emmy Awards, one of whom even got to walk the red carpet on his arm. The designer and Project Runwayjudge's lovely date for the evening was none other than Gia Coppola: skilled director, having just made her directorial debut with James Franco's Palo Alto, and dear friend to the talented Posen. Coppola was a true beauty in blue, wearing an icy cocktail dress crafted by the high fashion and glossy evening wear designer. In an Instagram video that Posen uploaded onto his account, Coppola does a pretend catwalk and twirl in the carefully draped design, revealing an easily missed, but beautiful detail: two pieces of satin cascading down the back of the flirty frock.

While Posen may have had Coppola by his side during TV's biggest night, he didn't forget about the other red carpet stars who rocked his creations, posting a photo of each onto his Instagram as well. The wonderful Christine Baranski was red hot in a cherry gown, proving to be a Posen loyalist after wearing the designer to the 2011 Emmy's as well. Then, there was Maria Menounos. Posen commented in his Instagram photo that E! host looked “incredible” in his floor length navy gown. The design featured a bosom similar to Coppola's gown, but had a longer, more fitted silhouette and a dramatic train. Looking as equally brilliant in blue was 30 Rock actress Jane Krakowski, a nominee for┬áthe evening's Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series category. Her dark teal dress featured clean, simple lines that made for classic elegance. Also nominated in Krakowski's Emmy category was a Zac Posen wearing Julie Bowen, who was a dream in her pale-pinkResort 2014 mermaid gown. The gorgeous dramatic hemline and intricate cap sleeves made the design a red carpet favorite that evening. Posen even used the hashtag #glamourgowns on his upload of Bowen's dress, and later posted a picture of him fixing its elaborate train at an Emmy after party. Do you have a favorite Posen pick?
