Go Behind the Scenes of Penelope Cruz’s Lancôme Campaign
The short film reunites the sultry star with Nine director Rob Marshall to tell the story of an actress and a boxer (Ilay Kurelovic) that channels the golden age of Hollywood for the introduction of the iconic fragrance’s lighter sister scent Trésor Lumineuse. It also pairs Cruz with Pari Dukovic, a fave of The New Yorker who has shot the likes of Nicki Minaj and Claire Danes, for the print campaign, depicting the chemistry between the lovers. “Rob is amazing,” she said. “Apart from being such a talented director, he’s one of my favorite human beings because he’s truly special.”
As for the scent itself, its notes include violet leaves, bergamot, jasmine, Bulgarian rose, vanilla, cashmere wood and praline, creating a dynamic between independence and romance. “I love what Trésor represents because to me, it’s an homage to all women and to femininity,” she said.
The scent and its short film are slated for release later this month, and we’ll be sure to keep our eyes open to see how close the actress and boxer become.
