Hit UK Show “Mistresses” Is Coming Stateside
There's a steamy new series coming to the small screens this summer. Based on the hit 2008-2010 UK television series of the same name, Mistresses is a sexy and daring drama about the provocative lives of a fearless group of girlfriends, each with her own journey and set of problems.
The show follows the complex relationships of four friends played by TV veterans Alyssa Milano (Charmed), Yunjin Kim (Lost), Rochelle Aytes (Desperate Housewives) and newcomer Jes Macallan. While strong and beautiful, these complex characters don't come without their share of problems and drama. Milano stars as successful lawyer Savannah ('Savi') Davis, who is trying to start a family while simultaneously beginning a steamy affair with her colleague. Her younger sister Josselyn, played by Macallan, is a free-spirited real estate agent with no interest in settling down. Their mutual best friend April, played by Aytes, is a recent widow and mother of a ten-year-old daughter. Kim's character Karen Kim, is a therapist who sleeps with a terminally ill and married patient. Much like real life, not everything is perfect or how it appears on the surface but the four friends lean on each other throughout their turbulent times, secrecy, and betrayal.
With recurring guest appearances from Penelope Ann Miller (The Artist) and Shannyn Sossamon (How to Make It In America), Mistresses promises to bring the sex appeal and drama we've been craving in a summer series. Don't miss the series premiere Monday, June 3rd at 10|9c on ABC after The Bachelorette.
