Rihanna Says She was Being Selfish with River Island
Time for Rihanna & River Island, Round 2!
In anticipation of her next collection for UK-based brand River Island, Rihanna is letting us in on her thought process, with a new behind the scenes video. The singer worked with designer, Adam Selman, and admittedly was trying to fill a very specific void with this line.
“I made a piece for everybody in my crew,” Rih Rih said in the video. “We have different body types and different tastes. I needed to make clothes for fat days. I just wanted to make stuff that I want to wear. I was being selfish.”
This is hardly surprising, considering Rihanna’s first River Island collection was highly influenced by her style. For it’s debut during London Fashion Week in February, she styled the models, had final say before they hit the runway, and even wore pieces of the collection on Elle UK.
Rihanna’s second River Island collection will be “fresh off the runway” and in stores May 25th. In the meantime, watch Rih and Selman walk us through the collection in the video below–that should hold you over.
