Simone Rocha Fall 2014
DESIGNER: Simone Rocha
INSPIRATION: The Elizabethan era
TRENDS: Rocha took from the trends that Queen Elizabeth and her court once flaunted and gave them a contemporary restyling. To emphasize the hips, as the dresses of the 16th century did, the designer sculpted molded skirts and ruffled detailing on the sides of models' waists. Textures like faux fur, shearling, and velvet gave off the luxurious style once seen in a castle. Gilded dresses, python print, top handle bags, gold stitched embellishment, and exaggerated shoes also added to the rebellious royal aesthetic.
PALETTE: Black, gold, yellow and olive colored python print, midnight blue, light pink, red.
WHO WAS THERE:Suzy Menkes, Anna Wintour, Caroline Sieber
WHO SHOULD WEAR IT: Young, stylish stars who rock feminine fashion in a modern and defiant way: Rooney Mara, Lorde, Leigh Lezark, Alexa Chung.
