Star Scoop: Hugh Jackman Takes No ‘Prisoners,’ Pixies Pen for a ‘Bagboy,’ Sony’s Captain Planet


There's nothing like a daddy's girl and Hugh Jackman brings that point home in the thrilling trailer for Prisoners. X-Men's Wolverine assumes a different set of claws in the role of a father whose daughter and her friend go missing on Thanksgiving Day. Jackman stars with on-screen wife Maria BelloViola Davis and Terrence Howard, who portray the second missing girl's parents; and Jake Gyllenhaal as the cop who's working to bring them home. It was 2004 when The Pixies released their last single, “Bam Thwok.” Nine years and one-fewer bandmate later, the group has resurfaced with the release of “Bagboy.” Guitarist and vocalist Black Francis explained that although it's a new song, its inspiration had “been kicking around for a while.” “The lyrics, coincidentally, were composed at a Starbucks Coffee in Harvard Square in Cambridge, about a hundred feet from where, 25 years ago, I composed some of the lyrics to an old Pixies song called ‘Break My Body.’” Watch The Pixies’ latest here.
