Style Scoop: Iris Apfel Loves Bittar Baubles, Public School Wins Another Prize, Karl Lagerfeld and The Biebs Reveal Their “Project”


Okay, it’s officially a trend. Iris Apfel joins the ranks of accomplished women over 70 to star in a fashion ad campaign. And they all do it so damn well. The 93-year-old fashion icon joins Tavi Gevinson in posing for Alexis Bittar’s spring 2015 ad campaign, doused in jewelry, of course. This campaign marks a big milestone for the brand (in addition to Bittar’s 25 years working with his brand’s signature material, Lucite): its first New York Fashion Week presentation. CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2013: check. U.S. Woolmark Prize for Menswear in 2014: check. The 2014 CFDA Award for Menswear: check. And, now, the design duo behind Public School can officially check the International Woolmark Prize off their list, because they just won that, too! The International Woolmark competition took place in London where the winner was decided by a panel of judges including designers, editors, and then some. Yep, Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne have won four major design awards in the last two years, and something tells us there’s more where those came from. [Fashionista]

Well, it’s here, and it’s an interview and corresponding photo shoot with Bieber, conducted by Lagerfeld himself. Topics of conversation include The Biebs’ future, his icons and social media. Ralph Lauren drew an impressive crowd to his new New York City restaurant. Michael Bloomberg, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Brooke Shields, Allison Williams and Lauren Bush Lauren were among attendees at the first two private dinners held at the new Polo Bar.
