Beyoncé may not have been in the building during Sunday night’s BET Awards—she is selling out stadiums with hubby Jay Z, y’know—but she was the ninth-annual ceremony’s big winner. Mrs. Carter took home three honors last night, including the Best Female R&B/Pop award, followed by a “Happy” Pharrell and newcomer August Alsina, who claimed two wins each.
Now, we could get into the night’s other winners—Nicki Minaj and the shadiest acceptance speech ever, Usher’s retrospective performance—but we’ll save that for another post.
