Winner’s Circle: The Country Music Awards Were Miranda Lambert’s Big Night

Miranda Lambert was belle of Wednesday night’s Country Music Awards ball; she went home with four of the night’s 12 trophies, including wins for Female Vocalist, Album, and Single of the Year. Lambert also brought Meghan Trainor along for a slick rendition of “All About That Bass,” which doubles, in our books at least, as yet another ceremonial win.
One of the night’s biggest moments, though, belonged to Luke Bryan. Of his nine CMA nominations to date, he’s only won one, in 2013 for his cameo on Jason Aldean’s “The Only Way I Know.” Last night’s Entertainer of the Year honor was his first solo CMA, and prompted him to assure the audience that “We’re going to have a good time tonight.” Indeed.
