Fall is the best time to indulge in all things festive. From pumpkin spice lattes to hard ciders and mulled wines, there are plenty of ways to savor the warm spices of the season. But allow us to introduce you to your new favorite fall beverage: Oliver Winery’s award-winning apple pie wine.
“It’s so fun to watch someone sip apple pie wine for the first time because their eyes light up,” says Sarah Anderson, marketing director of Oliver Winery and Vineyards. “This wine smells like the kitchen on Thanksgiving morning, and the taste is uncanny — from crisp, cinnamon apple to the à la mode finish, it tastes just like pie.”
That’s because Oliver Winery’s Apple Pie Wine features tart apple and sweet vanilla, along with notes of cinnamon, brown sugar, and nutmeg. “We use our state-of-the-art winemaking facility to capture the flavors of our freshly-pressed apples,” says Anderson, adding that no concentrates are used. The fresh apple juice then goes through a cold fermentation process, she explains, which is designed to be as gentle on the fruit as possible.
The result: A sippable take on your favorite fall dessert. The creamy vanilla balances the acidic apple, while the gentle aroma of spice fills your mouth with warmth.
But what exactly makes apple pie wine different than apple cider? A slightly higher ABV and less bubbles. Typical apple cider sugar levels will give you about 4 to 5 percent alcohol, whereas apple wine ranges from around 8 to 12 percent or higher. Oliver Winery Apple Wine comes in at 8.3 percent ABV, slightly less than your standard wine.
Tastes like dessert and also gets you drunk? We’ll take a case, please! “Back by popular demand, this seasonal wine has quickly become a fall tradition,” Dennis Dunham, Oliver Winery VP of operations and director of winemaking, said in a statement. “It’s a perfect wine for sharing.” (Or, drinking alone – no judgement!)
Oliver Winery Apple Pie Wine has sold out every year since 2016, and a limited supply will be released to market again this fall, so get it while you can! Trust us, this stuff is so good, you’ll be going back for seconds. Apple Pie Wine is available in select states and online, retailing for $10.
