Jessica Simpson and husband Eric Johnson just welcomed their third child, a baby girl born on Tuesday, March 19. The proud parents shared the news on social media, introducing their “perfect daughter” Birdie Mae Johnson.
“We are so happy and proud to announce the birth of our perfect daughter, Birdie Mae Johnson,” Simpson wrote on Instagram, alongside a black-and-white photo of her older daughter holding hands with the newborn. So sweet.
The birth announcement comes less than a day after the 38-year-old mom shared a photo of her very pregnant belly in a bikini, for which she received a ton of support and encouraging words from women worldwide. In previous Instagram posts, Simpson has spoken about the edema she suffers from, primarily in her feet, legs, and face, as well as other pregnancy pains.
“I am slowly getting healthier every day. Baby girl was monitored and is doing amazing! 🙏🏼 I am on my way to healthy and counting down the days to see her sweet smile. Sending love and prayers to all the mothers who are going or have gone through this. OUCH,” she wrote after revealing she was hospitalized for bronchitis in early March.
Simpson revealed that she was expecting back in August, sharing photos from the gender reveal. “This little baby girl will make us a family of five. We couldn’t be happier to announce this precious blessing of life,” she wrote on Instagram.
The pop star-turned-designer has been married to Johnson, a former NFL star, for nearly five years. In addition to baby Birdie, they share two other children together: daughter Maxwell Drew, 6, and son Ace Knute, 5.
