The Worst-Dressed Celebs At The 2025 Academy Of Country Music Awards

The Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM) always brings out a mix of fashion genres. There are attendees who embrace the Western vibe by wearing boots, fringe, studs, leather, and cowboy hats. Some of the looks work — namely those that don't overdo it with too many kitschy elements — and some fail miserably because they look like a Western-wear boutique vomited on them. Then, there are the attendees who bring the Hollywood glamour. This year, that was Nicole Kidman (whose husband, Keith Urban, was an honoree) and Rita Wilson (wife of "Forrest Gump" star Tom Hanks), who sizzled in a calf-length silver dress. There are also attendees who opt for typical awards-show fare: elegant, if somewhat boring, floor-length gowns.

And then there are those who go rogue. Sure, some fashion rules are meant to be broken, but the looks we're about to examine completely missed the mark. We can't always explain why, but every year, some attendees at the ACMs wear outfits that just don't work. The 60th anniversary of the awards show on Thursday, May 8, was no exception, leading a select few to land on our list of the worst-dressed celebs at the 2025 ACM Awards.

Lee Ann Womack's 2025 ACM Awards outfit was a retro bomb

We hope that "I Hope You Dance" crooner Lee Ann Womack doesn't wear anything like this outfit again. The country legend looked like she was ready to assume her position as a lounge singer, cocktail in one hand and microphone in the other, in this retro-inspired look. The outdated gown didn't have any shape, though the icy-blue shade was on-trend for the season and the hue worked well on her. But the red leather bag? A big miss in our opinion.

Jessie Murph looked like a Priscilla and Elvis impersonator at the 2025 ACM Awards

We expect that both PETA and the fashion police will take issue with Jessie Murph's red-carpet outfit at the 2025 ACM Awards. The 20-year-old Alabama native brought her pet pig named Wilbur along as her plus-one. Unfortunately, even a cute piglet couldn't improve this look. The up-and-comer channeled Priscilla Presley with her bouffant hairstyle and seemed to hint at an homage to Elvis with her sparkly flared pants. The long, fringed top was too big and overwhelmed her, and the whole look was a miss for us.

Morgan Wade looked muddled on the 2025 ACM Awards' red carpet

We get it: A fancy red carpet probably isn't singer and powerlifter Morgan Wade's idea of the most comfortable environment, but we feel like she could've done justice to her edgy vibe in a better ensemble. For starters, the pink, paisley-print satin jacket was busy and competed with her tattoos. We would have preferred something that highlighted her ink, not camouflaged it. The ill-fitting trousers didn't do her any favors, either. Though her chunky loafers are on-point as one of the popular shoe trends everyone is trying in 2025, they couldn't rescue the "Wilder Days" singer's look.

Alysa Vanderheym's 2025 ACM Awards look was a snooze-fest

Alysa Vanderheym's has worn some pretty cool looks for past red-carpet events, so what happened here? Not only was this dress boring, but it also didn't feel appropriate for a red-carpet event. Maybe she got confused and put on the outfit she was planning to wear for Mother's Day brunch. (Heads would certainly turn when she showed up in sequins on Sunday morning!) The point is, we expect more for a red carpet than a basic black-and-white knee-length dress.

Karen Fairchild looked off-balance on the 2025 ACM Awards' red carpet

Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild landed on our list of worst dressed celebs at the 2024 ACM awards, and we're sorry to say she's done it again this year. The 55-year-old showed off her stunning legs in a sheer minidress in a rich plum shade, but that's sadly where our compliments conclude. The dress made her torso look wide, throwing the look off balance. Moreover, the dress' bust structure made her breasts look smooshed and wide. We're going to hold out hope that we won't have to add her to our list again in 2026. No one wants to be a three-peat!

Lainey Wilson demonstrated Western-wear gone wrong at the 2025 ACM Awards

Nominee Lainey Wilson, who was up for sevne ACM Awards this year, arrived on the Frisco, Texas, red carpet to celebrate her "Whirlwind" year. Unlike the song, however, her look was not a hit. Wilson took the Western theme a step too far with over-the-top embellishments that made the look way too busy. The lace jacket with the train had so much detailing and cutouts that onlookers didn't know where to rest the eye, making it feel chaotic. At least Wilson makes music that hits harmonious notes.
