The Inappropriate Candace Cameron Bure T-Shirt Fans Still Can't Get Over

Candace Cameron Bure has faced a significant amount of scrutiny ever since her religious values came to light. When The Wall Street Journal asked in November 2022 if any of the Great American Family films would feature any LGBTQ+ storylines, she responded that they would "keep traditional marriage at the core," even despite all of the glaring red flags our matchmaker spotted in Candace Cameron Bure's own marriage.

Bure has always been strongly connected to her faith and holds it at the center of her life. On her website, she wrote, "While I am thankful for all of those opportunities and titles, I feel that the most life-changing one I identify with is 'Christian.' I am a Christian woman who loves Jesus and seeks to give Him the glory above all else." This view provides context as to why a certain sacrilegious T-shirt the "Full House" alum wore was so shocking, and why people are still talking about it to this day.

In March 2017, the actor donned a "Not Today Satan" graphic T-shirt, playfully wagging her finger in the Instagram post. Many assumed that she thought the quote was literal, once again showcasing her unwavering faith. However, others called her out because the phrase was popularized by drag queen and "RuPaul's Drag Race" Season 6 winner Bianca Del Rio. Critics voiced their opinions in the comments of the post, with one user writing in April 2025, "Just flew over her head, makes a lot of sense." Another added, "'Contradiction at its finest' @thebiancadelrio."

Candace Cameron Bure's graphic tees have landed her in hot water before

Since she became a household name at the ripe age of 11 years old on "Full House," we've gotten to watch Candace Cameron Bure's stunning style transformation, but that doesn't mean she hasn't made some fashion blunders, too (check out Candace Cameron Bure's most inappropriate outfits here). We've already discussed the ever-controversial "Not Today Satan" tee, but her graphic T-shirts have led to tension on more than one occasion.

After showing off her debatable T-shirt in 2017, but before her 2022 comments earned her backlash, Bure launched her fashion line with QVC in April 2021, including a line of, you guessed it, graphic tees. In March 2023, even after being criticized for the Satan shirt, Bure took to Instagram to announce that select T-shirts from her line were going on sale, and they featured sayings like "love one another" and "love all." Many found this to be hypocritical based on her rocky statements of the past denouncing LGBTQ+ relationships. "Only if you were to practice what's on your shirt," one snipped in the comments. Another added, "Ummmm, love everyone means EVERYONE!"
