The world of "The Big Bang Theory" has caught lightning in a bottle more than once. The record-breaking original series ran for 12 seasons from 2007 to 2019, and the potential to continue the story was plentiful. A spin-off for Sheldon's character (played by Jim Parsons), detailing his family life growing up in Texas, was underway by 2017.

Like its predecessor, "Young Sheldon" has found massive success. The show ran for seven seasons from 2017 to 2024, catapulting Iain Armitage (young Sheldon Cooper) and Raegan Revord (Missy Cooper) into the spotlight. Though the show is centered around Armitage's character, his female counterparts were the ones who brought the show together and led it to its immense success and subsequent spinoff, "Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage." The show takes place in the late '80s and early '90s, so many of the characters' fashions are based on what a traditional Southern family would wear at the time. Of course, the styles are also influenced by the characters' individual personalities. That said, even underneath the costuming, cosmetics, and hair, the leading ladies of "The Big Bang Theory" universe are just as stunning without makeup

Many of the women from "Young Sheldon" had extensive careers before entering the cinematic universe of "The Big Bang Theory," and all of them have gone on to find success afterward. If that weren't enough, they've also experienced quite the transformations. Without further ado, let's take a look at the glow-ups of the ladies from "Young Sheldon."

Zoe Perry isn't as buttoned up in real life as Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon

You may recognize Zoe Perry as the daughter of actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry, or you may know her as Mary Cooper, the matriarch of the Cooper family in "Young Sheldon." Her life transformation has been astounding, but she's had show business in her blood since the beginning. After becoming more serious about theater at Northwestern University, she moved to New York to pursue it professionally.

After some back-and-forth living on the coasts, alternating between small roles in TV shows and working with both of her parents on stage and screen, Zoe struck gold when she landed the role of Mary Cooper in 2017. It wasn't any accident, as Metcalf originated the role in "The Big Bang Theory," but don't worry — Perry still had to audition. She captured the hearts of millions as the ultra-religious, fiercely protective Southern belle. On the show, Mary Cooper dresses primarily in florals and pastel patterned dresses and skirts, her hair always neatly clipped back.

Behind the scenes, though Perry isn't active on social media, the actor's style has transformed into a no-nonsense one. From her red-carpet appearances, we can glean that she enjoys a simple silhouette and isn't afraid to let her hair down. For instance, in April 2024, she attended PaleyFest in a muted green leather jacket and matching skirt that she paired with a black turtleneck underneath for a sleek, refined look. She wore her hair straightened to keep the look polished and clean. Maybe she's a bit more like Mary Cooper than we thought.

Raegan Revord is growing into their own personal style

Raegan Revord has experience a complete transformation since being cast as Missy Cooper, Sheldon's witty but lovable twin sister, at just 9 years old. Having spent seven consecutive years on screen, viewers got to watch Revord's stunning transformation from little kid to a teenager right before their eyes. On the show, Missy's style transformed as she grew into somewhat of a rebellious teenager, transitioning from bright, youthful colors to the earthy, grungier essence that arose in the 1990s.

In real life, Revord is continuing to grow into their style. They've experimented with different makeup looks to enhance their stunning green eyes, including using a black eyeliner on their eyelid and waterline with a light, dusted pink shadow in one Instagram post. Clothing-wise, Revord posted a carousel of looks on Instagram, many of which channel a vintage vibe that matures the actor, including a plaid Miu Miu jumpsuit and a black-and-white gingham collared dress. Revord brings new meaning to "wise beyond their years."

In 2019, Revord created Read with Reagan, a virtual book club where they select a certain novel each month and allow other readers to discuss the text in an online forum. "I didn't see that space for kids to fall in love with reading," they remarked to People in August 2024. Revord's love for the written word was so uncontainable that they decided to write a book. "Rules for Fake Girlfriends," a young-adult mystery-fueled rom-com, is slated for a September 2025 release. Additionally, in terms of Revord's personal and philanthropic pursuits, they're a junior ambassador for the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and an avid advocate of animal rescue.

Emily Osment has come a long way since the Hannah Montana days

It seems like many of us grew up alongside Emily Osment, as her career in entertainment spans three decades — and even Emily Osment's iconic blond hair has undergone quite the transformation that we've loved witnessing. Her first gig came when she was just 7 years old in the form of the 1999 film "The Secret Life of Girls." After joining the "Spy Kids" franchise for the second film and later being cast on the hit Disney Channel show "Hannah Montana," Osment became a household name.

Young girls all over the world fell in love with her as a pre-teen, and she's only become more charming in adulthood. She'd garnered quite a list of credits when "Young Sheldon" came along, and she struck gold. Her chemistry with her on-screen beau, Montana Jordan, was so palpable that they decided to give them a spinoff of their own, and Osment couldn't be more grateful. "We're fortunate in that way, where we've got something sweet to look forward to," she remarked to Entertainment Tonight in June 2024, referring to the bittersweet series wrap of "Young Sheldon."

Osment portrayed Mandy on the show, the sensible young adult who Sheldon's brother, Georgie, gets pregnant. As an outsider to the Cooper family, Mandy's styling heavily relied on more modernized pieces, including lots of denim, color-blocking, and relaxed silhouettes. In real life, Osment's style has certainly evolved from her first red carpet. Nowadays, the actor highlights both her humorous street style and incredible glam on social media. Occasionally, she'll combine both and give fans an insight into her lifestyle. For the Season 1 wrap party of "Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage" in early 2025, Osment posted in a red bodycon minidress that she accessorized with a plush mushroom hat. We can't blame her — it matched the dress perfectly.

Annie Potts' style hasn't changed much despite her illustrious career

Annie Potts plays Constance "Connie" Tucker on "Young Sheldon," though she's often referred to as Meemaw. Sheldon's grandma never acts her age and brings laughter and light into the Cooper home, but for the actor, "Young Sheldon" was just a blip on her resume. Potts has been a highly celebrated talent of stage and screen since her career took off in the 1970s and '80s. Known for her roles in iconic films like the original "Ghostbusters" franchise, "Pretty in Pink," and Pixar's "Toy Story," there's no slowing down in sight for Potts.

Meemaw may be Sheldon's grandmother, but she doesn't let that title affect the way she dresses. As a Southern firecracker, her costuming is defined by animal prints, bold colors, and glamorous jewelry, while still maintaining a Texan comfort level with button-down shirts and blouses. During an April 2018 interview with Gold Derby, Potts revealed that the styling for her character was heavily inspired by Dolly Parton. Behind the scenes, Potts is one of the celebrities who proudly show off their gray hair and has grown out the iconic salt-and-pepper pixie cut to a full-blown bob. She has also fully embraced living her best life in athleisure wear. In March 2025, she posted a video captaining a pontoon boat with an all-black outfit composed of a fitted crewneck and sweatpants. Now, that's what you call living the dream!

McKenna Grace stays booked and busy, helping her fashion grow alongside her

One of the most recognizable child stars from the 2010s has to be McKenna Grace, from starring in "I, Tonya" to "The Haunting of Hill House" and "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina." Her IMDb is seriously stacked, and she only turned 18 in June 2024. It seems like we can't turn on our TV without seeing her face at this point, and she's only just beginning.

Grace portrayed the recurring role of Paige Swanson on "Young Sheldon," the mortal nemesis and intellectual equal of Sheldon. She appeared in nine episodes throughout the series, and though she was Sheldon's cerebral match, their styles couldn't be more different. Like Missy, Paige also embraced the grunge era of the '90s, including lots of chokers, denim jackets, tattered seams, and dark color palettes.

Off set, Grace is so booked and busy that her fashion sense has accumulated as she jumps from one red carpet to another. The actor loves a red lip against her fair skin and blond hair, like the one she wore to accompany her matching ball gown for the "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" premiere in March 2024. Grace isn't afraid to play around with a more risqué silhouette either, as she donned a baby-pink bra and two-piece for a Valentine's themed photoshoot with, you guessed it, a matching red lip.
