How Lara Trump's Face Has Transformed Over The Years, According To Our Plastic Surgeon
Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump, is often considered one of the worst offenders of the "Mar-a-Lago face" plastic surgery trend. She has the signature blend of snatched cheekbones, plumped lips, and frozen skin that has become the standard look for women in the president's orbit. These features are especially noticeable because Lara Trump looks so different in her engagement photo from 2013, as well as in other older snaps.
Now, we're all for women getting cosmetic work done if they want to, especially when it works. And truth be told, Lara looks great, but it's hard not to wonder how much tweaking she's receive along the way. To get a professional take on her evolving look, Glam spoke exclusively to Dr. Frederick Weniger, a board-certified plastic surgeon based in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
According to Dr. Weniger, Lara's transformation "may suggest a combination of surgical and non-surgical aesthetic procedures." One of the most telling changes, he says, is her brows. "[Their] position appears slightly higher and more arched in recent images compared to earlier ones," he notes. "This could be the result of a surgical brow lift, but more likely shows the consistent use of neuromodulators like Botox to achieve a lifted, more open look around the eyes." He adds that her "remarkably smooth" forehead is another reason he believes she regularly gets Botox. But beyond injectables, Dr. Weniger says one "important" area hints at something more invasive.
Lara Trump could've gotten a facelift, says our plastic surgeon
When it comes to spotting plastic surgery in Lara Trump's face, Dr. Frederick Weniger tells Glam that a few features hint at "work done," like a jawline that shows no natural signs of aging. During our exclusive chat, he compared Lara Trump's recent makeup-free photos with photos from her engagement to Eric Trump and pointed out that there was very little change over 12 years. "Notably, the apparent lack of change to this important area over the years could indicate a lower face procedure, such as a mini facelift or deep plane lift," he explains. That said, he points out that some non-invasive treatments can deliver a similar sculpted effect.
Dr. Weniger also highlights a glaring change to the middle of Lara's face, which he credits to a boost in volume. "The cheeks appear more elevated and fuller than in past years, which often indicates the use of dermal fillers like Voluma or fat grafting," he says, adding that it has improved her facial balance. Beyond the structural changes, Dr. Weniger's analysis reveals that Lara's surgeons appear to know their stuff. There seems to be a balanced approach across her lips, eyes, and skin to create a cohesive look.
Lara's lips, for instance, show signs of enhancement. "[They] appear more balanced and fuller than before, possibly due to the use of subtle lip filler to enhance symmetry and volume without creating an overly augmented look," Dr. Weniger says. Moreover, he notes a softening of the upper eye area. "[They] do not look as hollow," he explains. This may have been from fillers injected below the eyebrows for a more youthful look. And finally, there's the skin itself, which has an "even" texture that hints at "resurfacing treatments such as fractional laser, microneedling with PRP, or light chemical peels," per our plastic surgeon.
Could Lara Trump's trim figure result in facial issues as she ages?
One of the most interesting aspects of Lara Trump's transformation since marrying Eric Trump is her decision to become a fitfluencer, but according to Dr. Frederick Weniger, this can come with a trade-off. "Because she is very thin and fit, maintaining and replacing facial volume will be more of an issue for her than for most women," he exclusively tells Glam. When the time comes, the go-to fix will likely be strategically placed fillers. "Hollowness in the temples, cheeks, and around the mouth will require filler to maintain youthful contours, but must be gingerly approached to prevent looking overdone," he explains.
Dr. Weniger also predicts natural aging will eventually impact her jawline and neck. "Once this shows up as jowling or loose skin under the chin, a lower facelift will be the solution," he says. However, he adds that this likely won't be necessary until Lara, currently 42, is in her 50s. Another possible procedure Lara might need is an upper or lower blepharoplasty, but only if her eyes become puffy or have excess skin.
Invasive procedures aside, one key factor Dr. Weniger emphasizes is that Lara will need medical-grade skincare to maintain previous and future cosmetic work. "This should be augmented by occasional treatments such as microneedling with radiofrequency, fractional laser, or even light resurfacing to maintain skin architecture and collagen support," he says. All things considered, he believes Lara's aesthetic work has been handled well: "It's been done with a clear intention to maintain a natural and elegant appearance refining features without dramatically altering them."
