How Kathy Griffin's Face Has Transformed Over The Years, According To Our Plastic Surgeon

Kathy Griffin has been in the spotlight since the '90s, and it's clear her face has changed over the years. Of course, it's natural for celebrities to want to look their best on and off-screen, and it seems Griffin had some subtle work done, according to double-board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Samuel Golpanian.

While looking at the stand-up comedian's photos from the start of her career vs. more recent days, Dr. Golpanian sees just a slight change to Griffin's nose, which is possible to change without surgery. This indicates a possible tweak (which Griffin has herself confirmed). "Over the years, her nose appears to look the same in terms of the width, which suggests she may not have had any major rhinoplasty work. If anything, she might have had minimal work done to reduce a dorsal hump on the bridge of the nose, but there's no significant change to the tip or width, so any changes would have been subtle," he exclusively tells Glam.

As for the rest of Griffin's face, Dr. Golpanian notes, "I don't see signs that she's had blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) either, since the skin under her lower eyelids has continued to accumulate over the years. Similarly, her neck shows natural aging, with visible platysmal bands — so it's unlikely she's had a neck lift. But if you look at her lips, you can see they appear fuller as time goes on, which suggests she may have used fillers to add volume." In short, Dr. Golpanian thinks whatever work Griffin has done is slight, and a few surgical procedures down the road can help maintain the star's appearance in the future.

Kathy Griffin has opened up about her cosmetic surgery

Kathy Griffin is one of the many famous older women who don't seem to age, and she can keep up her youthful appearance with certain procedures if she wants to. "An upper and lower blepharoplasty could help remove excess eyelid skin. A brow lift might refresh her upper face by lifting sagging brows," plastic surgeon Dr. Samuel Golpanian exclusively shares with us. "Given the natural sagging in her mid-face, jawline, and neck, a facelift combined with a neck lift could help create a more youthful contour."

Addressing Griffin's nose, Dr. Golpanian tells us, "... if she wanted further nasal refinement, a more defined rhinoplasty could be an option, although that's more a matter of personal preference since her nose hasn't changed much." Griffin, on her part, admitted years ago that even after healing from a nose job, she didn't see results. In 2011, she explained why she underwent plastic surgery during an interview on "The Green Room with Paul Provenza." She admitted, "I think most female comedians do it because, at the core, we still want to be funny and pretty. I do it because I want to be pretty and funny." We love that Griffin is one of many celebrities who have opened up about their plastic surgery experience.
