Apple Martin has a lot going for her: She's entertainment royalty, with mom Gwyneth Paltrow being an Oscar winner and empress of GOOP, and her father Chris Martin fronting Coldplay, one of the most popular bands on the planet. That's not including their respective partners, Hollywood producer Brad Falchuk, and actor Dakota Johnson. Apple's currently studying law at Vanderbilt University. Plus, she's musically talented, loves to cook from scratch, and has a fab sense of style, embracing trends from the 1990s, which was the era that saw her parents' rise to fame.

She told Interview in April 2025 that she enjoys delving into her mother's archive closet (she's one of the celebrity kids who's borrowed iconic vintage outfits from her famous parents, by way of a dress Paltrow wore to the Oscars). But her favorite pieces aren't the gowns; they're the casual looks. "My absolute favorite stuff is her old Calvin Klein from the '90s. I have a lot of it and it's the best thing in the world." She told the magazine that her regular student uniform includes Dr. Martens Oxfords in Cherry Red, paired with "jeans, a white T-shirt, and a jacket." From a young age, Martin has shown great style, especially casual looks that include sneakers and denim. But in recent years it has transformed as she's showing a penchant for designer fashion, proving that she can pull it off like a pro.

2004-2012: Apple Martin lives a stylish childhood

Apple Martin was born in London in 2004; she definitely looked more like her dad in her early years, before she morphed into twinning with both her mom and maternal grandmother, actor Blythe Danner. It wasn't long before the tot was spotted at her father's Coldplay concerts. Even the toddler's concert-wear was cool, with rolled-up jeans and sneakers featuring regularly in the youngster's outfits. Seriously, we'd even wear cuffed jeans, which have made a comeback in 2025, pink Pumas and a floral blouse to a concert nowadays and feel perfectly comfortable and stylish.

Legend has it that when Martin was a mere four years old, legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld claimed she would be a "Chanel girl," one of the brand's muses. The late Lagerfeld could clearly see the potential even then. Martin has said that growing up in the spotlight has had its challenges, but having a foundation like hers was definitely one of the pros.

2013-2019: Major moves for the tween and teenage Apple Martin

The year 2013 brought a big move for the Paltrow-Martin gang, including nine-year-old Apple Martin. They moved from London to LA, in what was originally presented to the public as a two-year trial period for Paltrow to be closer to her family. The following year, Apple's parents announced their infamous "conscious uncoupling," before their divorce was finalized in 2015.

During this era, Martin continued to lean into age-appropriate casualwear, opting for sensible footwear including sneakers and one of her mom's favorites, Birkenstocks. When Gwyneth Paltrow posted photos of her daughter on Instagram, including a pic of her and her children in Spain in 2016, fans began mentioning Apple specifically, with comments like, "Your daughter is beautiful! She LOOKS just like YOU!" and "Apple is stunning." Followers also began taking notice of her clothing: "Those pants are fantastic," one user wrote about a pair of printed leggings Apple wore on vacation in South America.

2020-2022: Apple Martin blossoms with pretty floral dresses

The interest in Apple Martin continued to mount and hit a fever pitch in May 2020, when Gywneth Paltrow posted a tribute for her daughter's 16th birthday. In the pic, Martin posed on the couch, wearing a flirty floral dress. She looked beyond her years to some, with one follower noting, "This outfit makes her look 26." Martin revisited feminine flowers two years later in a photo that Paltrow shared as part of a carousel that also featured her mother Blythe Danner. One fan commented, "Each generation gets more beautiful."

Martin told Interview that Jane Birkin, who opted for florals back in the '60s, was one of her fashion icons. She said she likes revisiting that era, along with the '70s, when it comes to her own style. She also named "British farmer" as a look she was exploring more of, which we'd translate into a pretty countryside aesthetic, like an update on Paltrow's wardrobe from when she played Jane Austen's "Emma."

2023-Present: Apple Martin takes a seat at the grownup designer table

In 2023, 15 years after Karl Lagerfeld predicted that Apple Martin would be a "Chanel girl," she made his prophecy come true as she sat in the front row of the brand's haute couture show, alongside up-and-coming it-girls Sadie Sink and Lucy Boynton. For the Paris Fashion Week appearance, Apple wore a classic Chanel outfit with a black-and-white dress and jacket combo finished with an iconic cross-body quilted bag. Her makeup and hair felt fresh while also throwing a nod to '60s mod.

Apple Martin had heads turning the following year, when she attended a debutante ball in Paris. She took a selfie with Paltrow (who posted the pic in a carousel that revealed that she, ex Chris Martin, son Moses, and mom Blythe Danner also attended the ball with Apple). The then-20-year-old looked stunning in a pale-blue confection that featured a black bow at the waist. It signaled to the world that Martin is now comfortable playing in the closets of the couture designers; she's evolving past her mom's archives.
