Nancy Mace's Cowboy Boots Took This Outfit In The Completely Wrong Direction

Suppose you need any further proof that South Carolina Congresswoman Nancy Mace has been taking fashion tips from Kristi Noem with their strikingly similar "cosplay" outfits. In that case, you've come to the right place. In June 2025, she traveled to Texas to speak at the Turning Point USA Women's Leadership Summit, but her outfit didn't particularly coincide with her message.

On the day she spoke to hundreds of young conservative women, she opted for a coral-red wrap bodycon dress with layers of pearl necklaces, pairing it with knee-high cream cowboy boots featuring large pink bows on the front. Not only was she channeling Valentine's Day with the color combination, but you'd think she was giving a speech about breast cancer awareness. As a whole, the look was confusing, particularly as the boots seemed to add an unnecessary Western element. She wore the same boots a few months earlier in April, that time with a white dress with floral details. Again, the combo didn't gel well.

In a photo she posted to Instagram of her June outfit, Mace wrote received backlash not just for the content of her speech but also for her outfit choice, with one critic writing, "Who the hell let you outside dressed like that." Another joked, "This reminds me when the young teachers would try to sound hip and use common slang to the kids to 'reach out to them' lol she's like 'look I'm just like you I wear cowboy boots!'"

Nancy Mace loves a themed garment

The 2025 Women's Leadership Summit wasn't the first time Nancy Mace stepped out in an outfit that ultimately ended up embarrassing her, and it certainly won't be the last. This tendency to experiment with fashion has led to some of Nancy Mace's most inappropriate outfits yet.

She attended a grassroots movement in July 2025, wearing a graphic T-shirt that read "God Made" written on the front, above the traditional gendered bathroom markers. Instagram commenters called Mace out on what they saw as an insensitive and deeply inappropriate shirt. On another occasion, she unfortunately got boots involved once again.

Just like Kristi Noem's cowboy hat obsession, Mace has found her signature Western garment that she'll incorporate into an outfit any chance she gets, even if it doesn't make style sense. In July 2025, she posted a photo to Instagram posing with a police car, wearing all-black, skin-tight athleisure with a bulletproof vest and knee-high brown suede boots. Not only did she commit a major fashion faux pas by color mixing black and brown, but she looked straight-up silly by bringing in cowboy boots to an outfit that had no other Western elements. One Instagram user commented, "That costume is insufferable Nancy good god!" Another added, "You should arrest the person that said you should buy those boots."
