Melania Trump's QVC Jewelry Line Will Always Haunt Her

Melania Trump has made a stunning style transformation, and many may have forgotten that she was once involved in the beauty industry herself. Before becoming first lady, Melania created her very own line of costume jewelry. The line, called Melania Timepieces & Jewelry, officially launched on QVC in 2010. It was manufactured by MZ Berger & Co. and featured emeralds, diamonds, and gold. In a 2012 interview with Hollywood Life, Melania detailed how she wanted her creations to be versatile so that they were suitable for women at work and at home. She described the line as being composed of "really special pieces that you could wear morning to night." The line was meant to be affordable, with products like necklaces, rings, and watches being sold for less than $200.

As a former model, it would make sense that Melania wanted to be involved in the fashion industry, but according to her, the creation of her jewelry line was due to her love of architectural design. The line consisted of pieces inspired by places Melania has lived, including New York City and Palm Beach, Florida. Melania Timepieces & Jewelry seemed to be an early success, as the line sold out less than 45 minutes after debuting on QVC, but the years to come would be less kind to the collection.

Melania Trump's jewelry collection disappeared after Donald's first election

Sadly, Melania Trump's experience as a jewelry seller ended by the time she moved into the White House. In 2017, any mention of Melania's time selling products through QVC were removed from the first lady's bio on the official White House website. According to HuffPost, QVC released a statement at the time saying the company "does not have an active relationship with the brand," and we can't imagine Melania will talk about it on her own volition anytime soon. Was it shuttered to bolster her husband's political career? We may never know, but fashion and jewelry still appear to be a big interest for Melania Trump, whose inauguration ball look featured one of 2025's hottest accessory trends.

Melania isn't the only Trump to have had her own jewelry line that would eventually shut down, either. Ivanka Trump famously had her own line of fine jewelry, which sold at a much greater price point than her stepmother's. Ivanka Trump's 2009 wedding came with a seriously high price tag, in part because she wore jewelry from her line. According to People, Ivanka wore $265,000 worth of her own jewelry on the special day, including a platinum-diamond bracelet, a platinum-diamond hairpiece, and a pair of sparkly earrings that cost $130,000 alone. But Ivanka's jewelry line ultimately met the same fate as Melania's around the time Donald Trump began his first term as president. Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry was ultimately discontinued in 2017.
