Usha Vance's Method For Picking Out Her Outfits Is Super Relatable

Whether she wanted it to or not, Usha Vance's life has changed dramatically over the past year. The lawyer, formerly registered as a Democrat, has put her career in the backseat in favor of Republican husband J.D.'s role as vice president. She now keeps her political opinions quiet, has to use back doors to enter restaurants, and has her every move scrutinized.

Another element that's seen a shift is her fashion, with Usha Vance's style transformation noticeably evolving. As the second lady told Meghan McCain on her "Citizen McCain" podcast, "I've never been really chasing looking like the most fashionable person out there." But being thrust into the spotlight has forced Usha to up her style game. So, has Usha hired a team of stylists and put America's most prominent fashion designers on speed dial? Actually no. The way she picks her outfits is super relatable: She does it by group chat.

Who is part of Usha Vance's inner style circle?

During her interview with Meghan McCain, Usha Vance revealed her method for choosing outfits and it's something many of us have done. When asked if she works with a stylist, she replied, "I have this text thread of friends that I work with. One of them works in the fashion industry and she loves picking out outfits and suggesting ideas and she's been a really great help." That's presumably Isabella Nardone, who has been called out as Usha's stylist, though she doesn't appear to be one in an official capacity beyond directing Usha toward stylish outfit options to wear. The other people on the thread are a neighbor and a childhood friend. Usha also shared that she took photos of everything in her closet and uploaded them into an app that helps create outfits.

So how well are the app and her friends doing? Despite a few outdated outfits Usha Vance has been caught wearing and some white sneakers that might be Usha Vance's biggest fashion fail yet, the second lady seems to be doing pretty well. Most critics appreciate her understated style and that she doesn't appear overly concerned with what she's wearing, unlike another prominent White House occupant. Likewise, the SLOTUS has shown she isn't afraid to play a bit with fashion, like the pink ensemble she wore for Donald Trump's inauguration. At some point, Usha may want to bring a full-time stylist into her fold, but for now, she seems content with her low-key method of outfit selection.
