Tomi Lahren Is Unrecognizable In Throwback Photo (& Her Eyebrows Were Almost Non-Existent)

Beyond being a conservative influencer, Tomi Lahren is known for always showing up in a full glam beat. We're talking full-coverage foundation, heavy eyebrows, glossy lips, wavy magazine-cover hair ... the full works. And we're not judging. Tomi Lahren's makeup-free looks are just as gorgeous, so she looks great either way. But we couldn't resist scrolling back through the talk show host's early photos to see what she looked like during her pre-glam era.

We expected outdated fashion trends and maybe even a faux pas or two. What we didn't expect to find was her real eyebrows being the exact opposite of her current ones. In a 2009 throwback photo posted in 2019, 17-year-old Lahren had almost no eyebrows. "P.S. yes I barely had eyebrows and I still barely have eyebrows," she wrote before thanking makeup brand Anastasia Beverly Hills "for coming in clutch."

Beyond the massively different brows, Lahren's hazel eyes, which stood out even more without heavy makeup, were absolutely stunning, and her teeth looked more natural, too. Full-glam Lahren might have worked her way into the GOP crowd, but teenage brow-less Lahren was effortlessly cute.

One of the most common mistakes people make when filling their brows is drawing them on too thick, harsh, and unnatural — in other words, the Tomi Lahren style. Going from barely there brows to the heavy, dark ones she wears now isn't exactly a beauty upgrade. And this isn't just generic style advice, as Lahren's own Instagram shows. In multiple posts before her GOP rebrand, she rocked softer, more natural brows that really suit her. The muted brows were less "Real Housewives of Mar-a-Lago" and more "gorgeous beauty anchor."

One major example was at the Unite IE Conversative conference in 2019. Her brow look was simple and, from the right angle, gave off major Jennifer Lawrence vibes. Of course, Lahren's beauty choices are hers to make, but ditching the heavy look, which is one of the most outdated eyebrow trends, might actually work in her favor, especially since she's claimed she doesn't believe beauty is about makeup. "And ladies, I hope you see this and know that beauty isn't about your hair, makeup, eyebrows, weight, or any of it. Beauty radiates when you have the confidence to stand up for and love yourself regardless of who tries to pull you down," she wrote in the caption of a 2019 Instagram post. True words, but considering how often she leans into full-coverage glam, not everyone was buying it. One Instagram user even replied, "Honey, you got plastic surgery."

Makeup changes aside, there's one other big shift you probably noticed in Tomi Lahren's throwback photo. Several features on her face look noticeably different from today, and they have us wondering if she ever went under the knife. To be fair, the throwback was taken more than a decade ago, and aging does change a face. But Lahren is a ride-or-die GOP figure, and that caucus has its own beauty trend nicknamed "Mar-a-Lago face" (and it has some big offenders). It's characterized by heavy makeup, frozen expressions, and over-plumped lips. Lahren doesn't tick every box, but there are some similarities.

For the record, the talk show host has explicitly denied going under the knife. After a 2019 feud with rapper The Game, who posted an old high-school photo of her and accused her of having work done, Lahren gave Fox News a rundown: "He then posted an unflattering photo of me from high school and joked how ugly I am, and how I had plastic surgery... which I didn't."

However, not everyone is convinced. Board-certified cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Mariano Busso shared his opinions with our sister site The List, pointing out the glaring changes in her facial shape and jawline. "There are two elements that stand out in this transformation: her face shape changed from round to triangular (the base of this triangle would be at the level of her eyes and vertex on the chin), and there is an increased definition on her jawline," he explained. While he listed a few possible procedures, he also pointed out that aging and weight loss could be some reasons behind the changes. So, did Lahren get plastic surgery? We may never know. But we can all agree that even if she did get surgery, shaming looks is so high school and shouldn't be a thing anymore.
