Christina Haack & Heather El Moussa Never Learn From Their Inappropriate School Outfits

Christina Haack may spend the majority of her time as a master home designer and renovator on her countless HGTV shows, and evidently, she's quite the ambitious stylist for matters not involving wall décor. Case in point? The difference between Christina Haack's first HGTV appearance and now is astounding. In June 2025, Haack posted a series of photos to Instagram of the whole inner circle celebrating her and Tarek El Moussa's oldest daughter Taylor starting high school. The carousel was proof that Haack, as well as her ex's wife Heather Rae El Moussa, seem to be making the same outfit mistakes — at least when it comes to dressing appropriately for school events.

We were expecting the likes of denim, button-ups, and T-shirts: nothing too fancy for a small family get-together. Taylor was wearing a blue satin minidress with high-top sneakers, but it was no match for Haack's full-on cocktail dress, nor Heather's see-through lacy 'fit.

The "Flip or Flop" alum opted for a baby-pink floor-length gown, complete with a bone-in corset and crochet-esque patterns. You know, something subtle. Meanwhile, Heather went for a sheer black outfit with most of the torso exposed through the lace, other than a strapless black bandeau. In response, one Instagram user wrote, "Imagine dressing like that at your daughter's eighth grade graduation." Another asked, "Is Heather going to a funeral?" While the comments may have been harsh, they perhaps came from a growing frustration among the fan base, since this isn't the first time Haack and Heather have appeared to dress inappropriately at a school event. 

Someone needs to give Christina Haack and Heather Rae El Moussa the dress code for school-related events, because neither can seem to get it right. In May 2025, they both attended a Mother's Day celebration at Brayden El Moussa's school. While Heather was rocking a long-sleeved purple sweater dress with a plunging neckline that revealed a little too much cleavage for comfort, Haack decided on a lacy LBD with floral detailing and quite a provocative neckline for an elementary school classroom. 

Her glam wasn't complete without her signature blond sew-ins, of course (we seriously can't recognize Christina Haack without her extensions). Many celebrated the friendship and co-parenting skills of Haack and Heather, with one writing, "How sweet is that? Your blended family is beautiful. Your kids get to be loved by two strong, driven, and loving women. Amazing!" Another user noted that while the outfits might have been inappropriate, what matters is that both were there for support: "They are both wearing outfits with low V necks and are not clearly bothered by their collective cleavage. Who cares what they are wearing ... The important part is they both showed up for their child and support him."

Christina Haack's dating history and family situation are quite peculiar, but they may be influential to both Haack and Heather Rae El Moussa's wardrobes, particularly at school events when the women are together. Hack was married to her "Flip or Flop" co-host Tarek El Moussa from 2009 until 2018. They welcomed two children together while they were married, but it wasn't long before both of them moved on. Haack began seeing Ant Anstead in October 2017, before the divorce was finalized. The two went on to tie the knot in December 2018, later divorcing officially in June 2021. Most recently, she and Josh Hall got married in April 2022 and later split in July 2024. Tarek, on the other hand, didn't start up with Heather until August 2019. The two tied the knot in October 2021, and she instantly became part of their HGTV family. In fact, the three of them host "The Flip Off" together, deliberately putting Haack against Heather and Tarek.

They've become accustomed to their blended families as exemplified by these school events, but that doesn't mean Christina Haack won't try to get some revenge by looking drop-dead gorgeous. At the event, Tarek was head-to-toe in all black, Heather coordinating with him in her floor-length lacy 'fit. It's impossible to say whether Haack was trying to stand out with her blush gown, whether she and Heather were trying to outdo each other on the formal-yet-risqué front, or whether they are just on the same page sartorially because they're truly a happy blended family. Appropriate for the event or not, both women do look gorgeous!
